Mid Day In The Fields

So plump and pied were valleys wide
Where I with golden heart reside,
Beneath blue heavens ample crease
Where golden buds blow side to side.

From lying in that wealthy lease
I crowned all skies the master’s piece,
Whose bulky realms by suns were wheeled
To wear the noontime’s golden fleece.

Written in the Fall of 1994
Partial lyrics of “Gladly” (on music page)
