  Biography

Keith Christian Horvath was born on November 20, 1976 in Philadelphia, Pa.  As a child he was fascinated with nature.  He loved walking in the rain and when it snowed, he was in his glory.  As he grew older, this love of nature never left him.  When he went outdoors, he often commented on how the sky looked that day.  His favorite season was autumn when the leaves would change colors.  He thought it was unfortunate that in the midst of so much beauty surrounding us, ugliness could still be found.  Here is Keith, in his words, sharing his love of nature.

MID DAY IN THE FIELDS
So plump and pied were valleys wide
Where I with golden heart reside,
Beneath blue heavens ample crease
Where golden buds blow side to side.

From lying in that wealthy lease
I crowned all skies the master’s-piece,
Whose bulky realms by suns were wheeled
To wear the noontime’s golden fleece.

Keith was true to himself never compromising his beliefs.  Everything he believed in, he did so whole-heartedly.  People who did not know him quite well were sometimes surprised by his honesty and unconventionality.   He was very interesting to converse with and his thoughts were inspiring to those who knew him.   He was a genuine person who touched many people in his life and his witty personality captivated those who loved him.

Keith had a way of listening to you and using his unique insight to clarify the most difficult situation.  He was all about simplicity.  He felt that people sometimes unnecessarily complicated their lives. He also felt that modern technology was moving too fast and it needed to slow down for our own good.

Keith enjoyed absorbing knowledge and would rarely be seen without a book in his hands.  He would frequently visit the library spending time reading books of different genres.  His interests were vast, but he was especially interested in science, politics, philosophy, and poetry.  At the time of his death, he was enrolled at Bucks County Community College taking courses in politics and poetry.

Keith’s artistic abilities came very naturally to him.  His passion is felt through his writing, art, and music.  He started writing and drawing in his childhood.  He would spend hours at his desk perfecting his work.  In his late teens, he began playing in a band and his love for music escalated. Creating music with his friends was something that always brought him sheer happiness.

For those of us who were fortunate to know Keith, he will always hold a special place in our hearts. In his memory, he gives us strength, courage, and inspiration to be true to ourselves no matter what life brings us.

Keith will forever be our shooting star.
